The official Harry Potter DVD website from Warner Bros has now been updated. The US site now contains the special trailer (available here in our galleries) for the Ultimate Collectors editions of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, as well as the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince DVD and Years 1-6 giftset. In a newsletter heralding the DVDs, there is also this new photo of the special picture in picture feature on the blu-ray that will include commentary from cast-such as Dan Radcliffe- speaking about the movie scene. Also note in the same newletter was this wee photo of mockups of he forthcoming Ultimate Collector’s editions, showing two boxes that will be made for Deathly Hallows Part One and Part Two. The UK Harry Potter DVD site does not have the HBP info yet, however there are nice wallpapers for all the DVDs, as well as a screensaver. Again, all of these DVDs will be released on December 8th, 2009 with the UK to see the HBP DVD on December 7th.
At yesterday’s balloon launch for the forthcoming release of the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince DVD in London, actors Matt Lewis and Evanna Lynch spoke about their work in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Speaking to the BBC, Matt Lewis said “I’ve done a few days which went fantastically,” said Matthew Lewis, who plays student Neville Longbottom…”You wouldn’
We all know how much we all love J.K. and, it appears, that she knows also. That’s why, she recently opened a twitter account just to stay intuch with all here fans.
Reader Cassandra wrote in to tell us that J.K. Rowling apparently has a Twitter account here, at username @jk_rowling. While Twitter calls it a verified account, we checked, just to be sure, and have received confirmation: it is Jo. She opened it to put an end to all the fake ones and won’t be twittering often.
She said about her new twitter account:
“I am told that people have been twittering on my behalf, so I thought a brief visit was in order just to prevent any more confusion! However, I should flag up now that although I could twitter endlessly, I’m afraid you won’t be hearing from me very often, as pen and paper is my priority at the moment”
So, when is a new HP book comming, Jo?
We have received word that there are two special Half-Blood Prince first looks on the way within the next month.
Firstly, there is a report that a clip of the film will be shown during the Oscar proceedings on Feb. 22.
The choices were “Sherlock Holmes,” directed by Guy Ritchie with Robert Downey Jr.; “Terminator Salvation,” directed by McG with a temperamental Christian Bale; and “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” directed by David Yates with Daniel Radcliffe.
These clips should be fun for viewers, if any happen to be tuned in at the end of the annual marathon. But the preview gimmick, if it stays in the show, will put an exclamation point on the academy’s big problem: its disconnect with people who watch films. Any one of these movies has a shot at selling as many tickets as all of the year’s Oscar nominees combined.
And secondly, we have heard that MTV’s Spoilers will air an exclusive look of Half-Blood Prince during an upcoming episode.
